Daisies and Dust

I planted some Namaqualand Daisies
with the Nasturtiums in the vegetable garden

We discovered the original reed ceilings are above the pine ceilings in the kitchen

Oh my . . . what a nightmare . . . two days of dust
to remove the pine ceiling
now to repair the old ceiling,
it will look fantastic when done!

Lots of rain and freezing cold
We went for a drive in the countryside yesterday
It is beautiful . . .
I am used to very dry 'brown' winters
Here it is green and drenched

Visitor

I had a late afternoon visitor yesterday.
a Cape Eagle Owl (I think)

He sat and watched me from our old barn gable while I was in the vegetable garden.
Remarkable to see it so close to our house (only had my phone with me to take photo)
Made sure Louis the parrot and our kittens were safe out of reach, though

Picked my first Pineapple - Never grown a pineapple before!
it smells SO delicious!
