Carved Pagoda Beams

The beams for the pagoda at the back of the house are carved and going up . . . (looking at the photo, I feel proud of my handy work)
The adjacent rooms should not be too dark; we are planning to grow a beautiful, fragrant rose on the pagoda.

Would appreciate advice on a climbing variety that would like our wet winter and very hot summer.

~ Vegetables from the Babenhorst Farm ~
~ Badenhorst Wine ~

Met a young couple on a farm near Wellington. They grow the most beautiful vegetables and also produce their own wine.

Our vegetable garden is coming along slowly but surely. . . The weather has been fantastic since Saturday morning; we started to paint the “werf mure” (the walls in the garden). Begun to put up supports for the Espalier Fruit Trees I hope to plant along the fence at the Vegetable Garden.

The following  photos were taken nearby at Babylonstoren

Timing

the decision to replace the 1960's window with a sash window,
this week, could not have been more ill-timed.
Freezing cold and raining!

It looks much better

Little Mini and Slick - a lot more comfy in their basket . . .
